tylercoates:

This is a picture of me trying to “look natural.”
I am going to see The Damnation of the Faust tonight at the Lyric Opera by myself. I’m excited! Sort of! I mean, I feel like I will be a bit out of place in my skuffed Rockports, my ten-dollar H&M button up, this silly American Apparel cardigan that has ink stains on the sleeves (which I am wearing to cover up the muffin tops caused by too-tight pants and, you know, all of the fucking beer I drink), and my unwashed hair (I’m going through a phase).
But I’m also going to “be positive.” I’m gonna go to a fancy restaurant, sit at the bar, order an expensive drink (or two) and an expensive burger, and read the stories I have to workshop tomorrow. It’s time to “celebrate myself.”

The Lyric Opera have done some amazing productions in the past few years; La damnation being no exception.
